Art and education with a low-CO₂ footprint.
The School of Visual and Performing Arts is conceived as Prishtina’s first integrated arts complex and a new green urban landmark. Organized around the Agora of Art, the complex blends learning, performance, and public life within a nature-based setting. A hybrid GLT/CLT timber structure significantly reduces CO₂ emissions, while green roofs and solar panels enhance environmental performance and urban resilience.
Designed to educate. Designed to create.
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Pristina is funded by the European Union, implemented by UNOPS and designed by URBAN PLUS studio.
The estimated gross area is 13,400 m2 within which five departments operate: Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Chemistry and Biology.
The adopted design approach is Participatory Design (PD) in which students, professors, administrative staff, experts at the university and public institutions level took part. Characteristic are the creative and innovative interactive workshops in identifying and understanding the needs of the faculty as well as harmonization with European standards.
